How do
the lessons work?
The Club offers a series of
3 levels
that can take you from a brand new skier to a competent recreation
skier. The club has a ski rental department that is open on
restricted hours—typically on weekend days. The instructors are
club members who volunteer their time and skill.
For regular club lessons,
participants
select an appropriate level and sign up on the sheets located on the
upper level of the Cooper Lodge. Volunteer instructors will contact
those on the list from time to time to arrange lessons.

CLASSIC
TUNE-UP-
Part of the enjoyment for a
recreation skier is to know how to ski on different terrains and
under different conditions. The club grooms several trails that vary
in level of difficulty so use of the more advanced ones requires
important skill development. The CLASSIC TUNE-UP is for club members
with some experience wanting to advance in uphill/downhill ,
cornering, and flat techniques. Depending on student interest,
waxing can be included. This course is offered from time to time,
depending on class numbers and instructor availability. Interested
skiers need to use the sign-up sheets on the main floor of the lodge
so the instructor/coordinator will make lesson arrangements.
FEES - $20 for members
(rentals and
day ski passes separate if needed)
BEGINNER SKATE SKI-
This course will introduce
skate
skiing to an experienced classic skier (at least competent for basic
classic techniques). This advanced ski technique adds much to the
enjoyment of skiing under a variety of conditions (typically a
longer ski season). Interested skiers need to fill out the sign-up
sheets posted on the main floor for lesson arrangements.
FEES- $20 for members (
rentals and
day ski passes separate if needed)
