- Free Drop-in Program for 2024
- Friday nights, leaving the lodge at 7:15 pm sharp.
- The co-ed group ski program is all about introducing cross-country skiing as a lifelong sport that can be best enjoyed once the basic skills and techniques have been mastered, and to provide a fun group skiing experience for all genders.
- Be sure to bring: headlamp (we go beyond the lit trails), water bottle, temperature-appropriate upper & lower body layers (not cotton), warm socks and gloves or mitts. Further info will be emailed out once you register.
- Rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis for $19.50/ night for WNSC members. If you need rentals, please arrive by 6:45 pm so you can be fitted and ready to ski by 7:15 pm. Rental room closes at 7:00 pm sharp. Prepaid on the website or in cash.
- Experience: Some previous experience on classic skis is recommended - you should be able to ski a minimum of 3km and be fairly comfortable going up and down hills. The group will be split into levels of ability. If you are a complete beginner, we recommend that you take some Adult Lessons first to get the most out of your ski experience. If you need to grip wax your skis, please come early & feel free to use the wax room on the lower level.
- Note: Cut-off temperature is -25°C (not including wind chill) at 4:00 pm that day, according to Environment Canada. An email will be sent out by 5:00 pm if we need to cancel.
- Would you like to be a ski leader? We're looking for volunteers who can ski 5km to join us as a Group leader. Message us to become a group leader
