Who: Chicks on Sticks
What: A ladies group social ski program
When: Monday and Thursdays leaving 7:15pm sharp from the Lodge
Why: The goal of our Chicks on Sticks program is to introduce women to cross country skiing as a lifelong sport that can be best enjoyed once the basic skills and techniques have been mastered.
Wear: Be sure to bring: headlamp (yes we go beyond Electric Ave), water bottle (you'll be surprised how thirsty you can get in the cold), temperature appropriate upper & lower body layers (not cotton), warm socks (but leave room for toes to wiggle), and gloves or mitts.
How much: $10.00 (one time fee to cover wax, refreshments etc) for WNSC members. Bringing a guest? > $10 drop in day pass
Experience: Some previous experience on classic skis is recommended. The group will be split into levels of ability. If you are a complete beginner we recommend that you take some Adult Lessons first to get the most out of your Chicks on Sticks experience.
How cold: Cut off temperature is -25C (not including wind chill) at 4:00pm that day according to Environment Canada.
How to register? - check back in November 2017
