Big Stick Rentals
Wapiti Nordic Ski Club was able to get necessary trail work completed thanks to help from Big Stick Rentals. The aerial lift equipment the club rented from Big Stick this past fall was completely free of charge! The Wapiti Nordic Ski Club is extremely thankful for Big Stick Rentals and their generosity! bigstickrentals.ca Alder Brothers Construction Wapiti Nordic Ski Club needs a lot of trail work to be done during our summer months so our club can be ready each year for the ski season. With the recent twining of highway 40 our club needed to reroute our trails and maintain them. Alder Brothers Construction was there to support the club and do the heavy work. Each year the County supports Wapiti Nordic through their Operating Assistance grant ($5,000) to offset the expense of club programs. In 2023, the County also provided funds to purchase legacy equipment for the club to be prepared for the upcoming 2024 Alberta Winter Games - namely metal gates, timing clocks and new wax forms (valued at $30,000 approx). At their Capital Grants in December, County Council awarded Wapiti Nordic an additional $20,000 in matching funds to purchase a new wide track Skandic snowmobile, a new Ginzu groomer and a SnowDog multi use trail groomer. The County truly values the work that Wapiti Nordic volunteers and staff do to provide year round recreational services in the Grande Prairie region. More partner information coming soon! |
